Why this disclosure exists

A fire risk assessment often identifies work that needs doing — a door that no longer holds its rating, emergency lighting that fails its test, missing compartmentation. There is an obvious tension when the organisation identifying that work also profits from carrying it out. We publish this page so you can see exactly where we stand.

The assessment comes first, and stands alone

The findings in a fire risk assessment are based on the condition of the premises and the relevant guidance — nothing else. Our assessors do not receive commission, bonuses or targets linked to the volume or value of remedial work identified. A recommendation appears in your report because the building needs it.

When we may refer you

Where a report identifies work we do not carry out ourselves, or where you ask us to help arrange it, we may put you in touch with a third-party contractor. We may also receive enquiries through comparison sites, directories or marketing partners who introduce clients to us.

How we may be paid

In some of these arrangements we may receive a referral fee, commission, or a share of the value of the work from the contractor we introduce you to. In others we receive nothing at all. Where a fee applies:

• It is paid by the contractor out of their own margin.
• It does not increase the price you are quoted.
• It does not affect what our report says needs doing.

You are never obliged to use a referred contractor

You are entirely free to obtain your own quotes and appoint whoever you choose. Doing so will not affect the assessment you have already received, our willingness to answer questions about it, or any future work we do for you. We would always encourage you to compare quotes for significant remedial work.

Asking about a specific referral

If we introduce you to a contractor and you want to know whether a fee is involved, ask us and we will tell you plainly. You can also ask us not to refer you at all, and to simply provide the report.

Marketing partners and this website

We advertise online and work with marketing partners who may be paid for enquiries they send us. This does not change the price of our services or the content of our assessments. Details of the tracking involved are set out in our Privacy Policy.
